Motorola Droid X
Screen & Case
After reading almost every post in this forum I think my decision is made on the X. I do have some basic questions I am hoping other will offer comments and opinions on.
My first reaction when seeing the phone was. It's like carrying my laptop around. That based on the size of the device. I fully understand why the big screen is an advantage and more a pro than a con. But has anyone with the phone said. This is crazy and too big in comparison to others like Droid2 or Incredible? For example I am coming from a Dare.
My next question is about carrying the phone. At the risk of sounding like a total nerd. I currently carry my Dare on my belt. Yes, I know they have belt cases & holsters for the X. But is it really possib...

As for cases and screen protection, I opted for a thin black (looks kinda like carbon fiber) silicone case and a screen protector. The case isn't hard plastic, but it's also not one of those really soft gummy cases that lint sticks to and makes it hard to get out of your pocket. It's flexible but not sticky. You bring up a few items I thought about as I considered this phone. The first was you have to be kidding this is HUGE. There is no way i am carrying this around and looking like a geek. Then I compared it to others. Probably the closest competition/match. That being the IPhone. And found out the X is only about .5" longer. And identical or smaller (dimensions) in every other way. Something about the IPhone that makes it look significantly smaller in comparison. Even though it really is not. My thought is once you have a screen that large there is no going back to those small phones that still exist 🙂 I do think after the initial "this is huge" in comparison to the Dare I have now. It's going ...

Check out the cases for the X at the Verizon store. Like I said, the one I got for my X isn't ridgid, hard plastic, but it's not a floppy, gummy case either. It's flexible but not tacky. Kinda hard to explain but I really like it. It's very thin so it adds almost no additional bulk to the phone, and it protects it very well. It covers the entire back and sides and I have the screen protector for the front.

With the exception of the hard plastic case this is the only one that does not fit into a holster or silicone category.
There is one with a "kick stand" for propping up to view the screen. But based on your description it does not appear that's what you have.
I appreciate the feedback and ...
