Not every device needs a 1ghz processor. Not if your hardware is better than your competitor's.
So they can achieve a good speed browser with only a 600+ mhz processor.
When your more effiecient, you dont need to make up for it in fast processorts.
Hence the Droid1, it has a underclocked 550mhz processor and a separate video processor.
they offload the graphics to the other chip.
Allowing for efficient cpu speeds, AND preserving battery life.
Battery life is second to performance.
What good is a smartphone if you cant last more than 6 hours off your charger.
This phone will help RIM stay competitive.
Just get it on Verizon soon so people can get it and actually have signal too.
Not sure what RIM was thinking, clearly this is a superior phone to the Storms. Might just come down to logistics that its better to start off in GSM seeing it can be sold just about anywhere in the world with no modification and tossing AT&T a bone. Outside of the Bold 9000, AT&T has got little first releases of Blackberry's.
I do know other markets are going to get this phone, Rogers etc... And I'm sure an AWS as well as a CDMA phone will come out at a later date, after the exclusive has expires.

If you're with AT&T, drop down to the 1400 and add the A-List. Good way to save $20.00/mo. 😛
Thats what I'm going to do in a few months. It will increase my bill by like $16.00 per month. But more minutes and A list I will be more then OK. Unfortunately I live in NJ which is like the Republic of Verizon Wireless. Many of my calls from my daughters are to those on them. So A-List will work for me.

Rollover minutes are useless to me. I never use the first 450 minutes I have.
Right now, I'm eating up my roll overs, and going to have to increase my minutes in a few months. I do understand, many people who come here are data specific users. But there are others who do use minutes. Not everyone is in the same boat.
