Text & Font Size Adjustability
I've been looking at a couple Droids (droid 2 & X), since I have an upgrade available soon, and was wondering how adjustable the fonts/text items are (as far as size goes) on the Droid 2.
I have a visual impairment and always look for a phone that at least lets me adjust the font size of texts & emails. Of course menus matter too, but it's the messaging that matters most to me.
Having not owned an Android phone, I'm assuming that there's at least some adjustability native to the OS. I'm also hopeful that whatever isn't available natively can be handled with an app.
Can someone help me get a clue regarding this area of functionality?
Thanks in advance!

How's the keyboard compared to original Droid?
I'd love to hear your opinions on how the keyboard is.. Thanks!
So lemme get this straight
Sure it's better than an LG Ally, but what isn't? That's like saying it is better than a PCD Quickfire or Motorola Q.
This is just a big bucket of fail. At least I agree with you on the aesthetics of this. Then again, you also whined about the aesthetics of the iPhone 4. A VCR is right twice a day.
Voice search button, among other things...
The battery on mine seems to be okay for my purposes. The only function that tends to deplete the battery life is Google's Navigate.
I also do not suffer the "signal loss" that many people are complaining about. The signal strength for the Droid 2 has been consistent with other phones I've owned. It does not do better nor worse in any dead zones which are notorious for dropped signals.
Most importantly, the Droid 2 addresses many issues that I felt were unacceptable with the Droid 1. For example, the microphone has been relocated to a less vulnerable area, the key...

I'm not trying incite a riot but...
Despite certain superior features i.e. 8 mp cameras, I can't see the benefit to any of these. I don't care what anyone says The X, Evo and droid 2 are ridiculously large. Sorry but I misplaced my FUBU jeans. You cant walk around with a freaking tablet pc if you plan on doing anything outdoors. I mean you would literally need a backpack for the Droid X. Don't suggest a belt clip to me and if you do then you just discovered why you aren't getting laid.
Specifically, I want to like Droid to avoid any Iphone envy I have (assuming it comes to Verizon; by the way ATT is a total joke) but I don't find the OS to be ...

Looks good on paper but how is the overall operating system vs. iPhone?
Don't agree with the review
Their is a known problem with the D2 involving Exchange. While mail and calendar syncs great, contacts do not. There is some chatter about deleting the categories of the contacts but this has not helped me. Also the D2 applies a security pin when using exchange, even if you server does not, and forces you to use a pin to...

Missed: Cases cause a problem with typing....
The Droid 2 uses a two-part case since it's a slider. Since it has no hole in the body to put a wrist strap through, most would want to use a case to protect the phone. Well, when you snap the top portion of the case on, it then semi-blocks the top row of keys on the physical keyboard, making it MUCH harder to type on that top row. Motorola should have designed this phone so that when you slide it open, it opens maybe 1/8 of an inch more to give more space above that top keyboard row. Any case will now interfere with typing. "Duh".
My unit is experiencing the wild up and down bar situation. Sitting on a desk, it goes from 0 to 3 bars in my home, and the 3G connects, disco...

Battery life on the D2 looks incredible
improved - I'm sold
I had an opportunity to play with one for about an hour. I talked a manager into showing me one (I knew they had to be in the back) and he got distracted and forgot I had it so I ran through all the menus and compared it to the original Droid.
First Impressions:
Faster CPU - noticeable at once, less lag
Usable keyboard - the biggest improvement
Froyo / Android 2.2
slightly lighter weight
more rounded edges & copper color trim
The screen seems to be the same resolution and brightness as the Droid. The new interface seemed easy enough to use but slightly drab compared to the Incredible and Droid X.
This isn't the big "wow" of the Droid X but they fixed a lot of the weak points about...

Interesting
Oh, let's not forget 2.2! That alone is merit enough.
I am happy with the hotspot and tethering but I am irked that VZ keeps saying that the Droid is not capable of such. Yet I see people doing it every day with their droids.
Now to see if a change from the Droid to Droid 2 is worth it.
