battery life

fonatic

I have had the MyTouch 4g for 3 days now. My battery seems to drain after about 6 hours of normal use (apps, web, phone calls, SMS, etc). Is this normal for MyTouch 4g? for all Android phones? for all smartphones? Just keep plugging in to my computer, car charger, etc? My previous phones (BB Bold 9000, Treo 650) lasted 1-2 days on a charge. Is the iPhone any better?

had the exact same problem. the reps told me that was normal and i should invest in more chargers. i turned it back in and am waiting for the bold 9780.
I wrote a review for this phone and plainly stated that it was an incredible phone but that does me no good if the battery is always on a charger. my experience yesterday before i turned it in.... phone was fully charged at 6 am and was completely dead by 11:30 am with moderate use.... i had the bold and kept wifi on all the time and i would have to charge it every other day with heavy use and every third day with moderate use.

As far as the battery life is concerned you have a few options,

Option 1:

Do not use advanced task killer Especialy if you are running Gingerbread (Android version 2.3) or higher. This causes the phone to use more battery, I recommend Watchdog, you can get a free lite version of this program in the app market.

Option 2:
You can also install Juice Defender to your phone, you can get a free version of it on the market as well. It shuts off your data and wifi settings when not in use, (Problem, with this is that the data is shut off when the phone is asleep, so when you wake up the phone and try to bring up something that uses data immediately (ex. Youtube) It fails to connect of first try,

Option 3:
