Latest NOT GINGERBREAD update
Has anyone installed it and noticed anything get better?

I have not gotten the update yet. So yea, enjoying free hot spot. But hate my phone rebooting, looking connections, bad gps.. Ect so when i get the update I'm downloading it.

If u continue to use it then u will be charged for the hotspot regardless of update or not. Why do u think that there was not a update for the charge or revolution? U really think u can get anything free out of VZW.

My phone states, "...Mobile Broadband connect services are available on this devide for no additional charge. When the promotional period expires, you will need to subscribe to the applicable service to continue using this application."
As long as I am still seeing that, and it works, its free. I presume it will not simply automatically change, it will need the update (which I am not doing).

This states that they will push the update for mobile hotspot to your phone with or without you doing the S/W update.
Reminder: The Unlimited Mobile Hotspot (MHS) and Mobile Broadband Connect (MBBC) 4G LTE limited time promotion ends 07/06/11. Effective 07/07/11, a $30 monthly subscription fee for Mobile Hotspot and Mobile Broadband Connect will apply for customers who choose to continue using the service.
Notes:
The MHS and MBBC monthly subscription plan will only be available with an unlimited data package of $29.99 or higher.

Good find, unfortunately if you look around other forums you will find that as of 7/9 we are still using the MHS option without getting the prompt upon initiating the session.

That's true. And in response to your first post. I will say the data connectivity did increase. I am not dropping down to 1X or loosing my 3G signal. No 4G yet until July 21. We now have My Verizon and I am finally able to download the Rock Band demo that's been sitting on my phone for the longest and was never was able to download with either wifi or mobile connection. I don't know if anyone else had the same problem with it. But does seems like an improvement to me.

looks like this update thats being forced yesterday and today ends the free hotspot trial. I have enjoyed the extra 10 days...

I did a software upgrade today. I noticed they added My Verizon to my phone. So far, it's not rebooting like it did before. So this new software is suppose to be Gingerbread. Talked to customer service about the rebooting issue. He told me it was Gingerbread.
