Voice Mail Number
Anybody know how to insert a hard pause and access codes into the Voice Mail access number stored in Speed Dial register No.1? It doesn't give that option when editing it. Not like editing regular speed dial numbers.

Menu->Option 3->Option 6->Option 8->Press the Right Selection Key to choose Pause length.

Thanks, RingTone, but that doesn't work on my ALLTEL phone. I finally got through and talked with a tech at LG. The latest version of software in the LX-5550 doesn't allow that feature. Not sure why. It was there in the previous version of software. It works for all other speed dial numbers except location No.1. Guess I'll just have to put my voicemail number in a second location for speed dialing. Thanks again for trying.

Your absolutly right, I work for USCC and literally 10 minutes after replying to your last post yesterday I sold a LG 5550 to a customer and discovered the EDIT VOICEMAIL BOX # option removed. I did a check and aparently LG removed that feature on the new ROM programming for security reasons. It's a sad day when companies begin telling us we're to naive to be left to secure our own voicemail.

Yes, it is sad that we are too incompetent to alter our own mailbox number. Actually, I can change the number all I want, but I can't add the pause or access codes. It makes no sense at all unless it is an error on the part of the software programmer. Otherwise, I like the phone so far. To whom should I complain about that missing feature? Alltel, my provider?

LG would be the target for that complaint. Just thank your lucky stars that with Alltel atleast you have a nicely colored face plate. USCC's 5550 has a white face and it stinks.

Ok, umm can someone tell me how to check my voicemail? ive left a mesg for myself, but i tried checking my missed calls, and i cant listen to it, ive also tried calling ym voicemail, but it doesnt let me listen to them on my cell phone. How do I do itttttttt!?!?!?! ☹️

No actually the Altell VX5550 has the same white faceplate as USCC's LX5550. I'd much rather have Altell's red instead of USCC's grey, but above all this is a phone, not a fasion statement.
