No, this phone does not have speakerphone. The 4500 does, as will the upcoming 3200. This phone is really more like a 4400 with the outside screen of a 6000. Unless there is a setting which keeps the outside screen lit permanently, which I'm not aware of, I would recommend the 4400 over the 4600. Its $20 cheaper, and the outside screen is always active, so you can glance at the external screen for time, date, battery, and so forth. The only real difference between the two as far of features/functions, is the 4600 has a much larger phone book. So unless you know 500 people and they all have 3 email addresses, go with the 4400. That is, if you need a phone right now and won't want a camera phone for at least two years.
