Can someone explain the vibrate "problem" to me?
I think I want to get this phone but I don't understand the problem that is going on with the vibrate mode on this phone.
Here’s what I want a phone to do since it’s what my current phone does (Audiovox 9155x).. either I want it to ring and beep for everything, or, I want it to vibrate for everything. Nothing fancy, no vibrate then ring, no ring for some things or vibrate for others. Can this phone do that? Is it hard to switch from one to the other? Currently on my phone all I do is hold down the # key for a few seconds and it switches to silent vibrate mode, hold it down again and it switches back.
I keep my phone in my pocket so I normally keep the phone locked. That way it wont go from vibrate mode to loud ring with out me...

I am pretty sure that the 4600 will work for you. It can be set to Normal Mode for rings/beeps. Manner Mode to vibrate (pressing the * key for a few seconds to toggle between the two modes). It can also be set for silent (NO rings/beeps or vibrate). There is also a Vibrate/High mode, which I think means it vibrates and the rings/beeps go off at a high volume setting. I've never used that mode.
If the phone is closed and the phone is in Manner Mode (vibrate) and the lower side button gets depressed for a few seconds it WILL toggle to Normal Mode (rings/beeps). I would imagine if the phone is locked this would not happen but I haven't tried that.

The side key that toggles between manner and normal (vibrate and ring) modes is not locked when you lock the keypad. Therefore, if it's in your pocket, you could fairly easily switch modes and not know it. So if you're in a noisy environment, it could be switched back to normal rather than vibrate and you wouldn't hear the ring. If you're in a meeting and it rings when you think it's on vibrate, it could be annoying.

Does this sort of thing happen often?
Does it also happen with the 4400?
