Aaaa.
This phone is now not even listed on the Verizon Web Site.
As if it wasn't hard to upgrade to before.
What is all this about?

Out of curiosity I called them and they had no answer besides they ran out of them and were no longer available. I said that they have not been out very long and she said something along the lines of they (Verizon) probably only planned on having a limited amount available and they are now gone. I wonder how they will service or replace these, if needed. Don't know if I like that or not since I have two. Kinda weird. 😳

The phone was available last week, so I tried to order it as an upgrade on the web on Thursday & Friday (8/19 & 20) The system wouldn't let me order the service plan that I wanted so I called Verizon Wireless & was on hold for about 1/2 hour. I left a message but they didn't call me back. On Sat. I tried again on the website, but the phone wasn't there anymore! After 3 more phone calls and about 3 hours of my time over this weekend, I still don't know why the 4600 is no longer available (one idiot tried to tell me that the 4500 was a newer phone than the 4600, and that the 4600 was retired. Ha! Newer models have lower numbers than older models?? Yea, right!) Anyway, I finally got a helpful supervisor and I'm getting another phone free!...

I have to agree with you when you say that there may be problems with this particular phone. My reasoning for this is because when I was experiencing my problems with this phone and I took it into a local VZW store the reps said that since the phone was available only on-line chances are that many of the phones that were manufactured were not properly tested. I just don't recommend purchasing a cell phone that will not ever become available in stores, because the techs are not familiar with that equipment.

And, the phone is not available by browsing thru phones on the LG website. If you have the older URL, then you can get the specs on their site, but they've taken it off the browse for cdma phones....

In this case true. However, not true in all cases. I'm not trying to sound snide, but it's just so people know that this isn't always the case. Some phones, say the Nokia 6620, are newer than the 6800. Or the 6820.
