Why I think you are correct it looks just like my 9000 without the touch screen. One of the other sites posted that the OS is the same OS 4.6, if thats correct RIM is moving in the wrong direction.

Looks the same but is a little larger than the 9000. Best physical keyboard hands down for larger fingers.
They are up to OS7 now which is much prettier and more fluid than 4.6.
Next year's OS will be based on QNX which is used on the Playbook tablet. Will be radically different.
