alarm problem: screen freezes!

while my phone is off and charging at the same time, the alarm rings and i go to turn it off. i disable it, then unplug the charger. my phone freezes, stays on the same disable alarm clock screen, i press all the buttons, and nothing helps. i put the charger back in, doesn't do anything. the only way to fix it is to remove the battery and put it back in. anybody know why this is happening or is there an alternative around removing the battery?

i found a way around this problem, just flip open your phone, close it, then press the volume button, the alarm will ring again, flip it open, then the ignore and turn on your phone options will be available.
