Question for Rich:
Your preview mentioned the processor is dual-core, but the stats page indicates just a standard 1 ghz.
Which is it?!
...
It is a 1GHz Single Core S4 Snapdragon. Although it is only Single Core...it is still a surprisingly quick phone.
As for your 2nd question, Metro PCS MIGHT get this device later this summer but there is no confirmation on that yet!
Hope this helped 🙂
...
It's not S4. The MSM8655 is an S2 chip.
...
You have it listed as an S3
...
Crud. You're right.
All of our info from HTC clearly says "S3".
But it also says 8x55, which is an S2 chip.
I'll get to the bottom of it. Thanks!
...
We finally confirmed with HTC that it is, indeed, the S2 chip. Their specs saying S3 were a mistake.
...
Totally meant S2...thanks for the correction Rich 🙂
...
It's single-core. Sorry for the confusion!
...
Yes, it is a single core chip.
No, it is not a Qualcomm S4 (Krait Series).
It's the Qualcomm MSM8255, in the Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 series, 45nm, ARMv7 instruction set, and has the aging Adreno 205 at its side.
I have one, and this single core chip sips on power, good battery life, albeit a tad slow for browsing and stuff.
...
The US/CDMA version technically has the MSM8655, but yes, other than GSM vs. CDMA, it's the same chip as the 8255.
