None of their models has 1700/2100 for T-Mobile's high speed network. Kind of lame if they want to sell unlocked phones.

I know. I guess because most global markets support these frequencies more than T-mobile's spectrum. I suppose, anyways.

I'm not completely sure. I think the broad frequency designations are the same, but then I see ATT bands listed as US versions of phones.

Regardless, the last Google Nexus was available in a T-Mobile version and I think the new one is a single model which supports both. And the price is within the range of Sony's lineup. Obviously Google can expect higher sales via self-promotion, but you would expect Sony to make at least one out of several.

Yes. 850 and 1900 are somewhat common bands in places other than the US, like Canada, Latin America, and Australia.

1700 is found in a few places outside the U.S., but not many. It's mostly a T-Mobile USA thing.

Question: does T-Mo now have a roaming agreement with AT&T whereby 1900 (WCDMA Band II) is offered? This is probably only in major urban areas at this point. T-Mo CTO blog said that iPhone users on T-Mo net will see better performance with 1900 access!

He said that becuase T-Mo is moving 1900Mhz from 2G to 3G/4G with their upcoming deployment of LTE. They need their current AWS spectrum for the LTE launch.

OK. So, T-Mo LTE will be AWS/1700/Band IV in future. 1900MHz will be 3G/HPA+ services. 1900MHz/Band II will support WCDMA voice/data on T-Mo. So, the Sony Xperia will work on T-Mo metro areas. Correct?

I can't verify all of your information. However, asuming your info is correct, then yes, this phone and any other phone that supports WCDMA 1900 (including iphone) will get 3G/HSPA+ connectivity. Yes.
