Has anyone heard about the availability of this phone for North America? Hopefully in a store?
I know Amazon (US) has it, Expansys has it too, but it is wayyyy too pricy ($824 CDN !!! 😳 )

That's what a high-end phone actually costs. That's not all that expensive. A 64GB iPhone 4S costs $849 US without a contract.
If you want it subsidized (with a 2-year contract, etc.) I'm afraid you're out of luck. No US carriers have announced plans to carry it directly (and I highly doubt that will change.)

Looks like I've been spoiled by *inexpensive* phones like my HTC One S (a mere $550!).
I like having the latest and greatest all the time, so I always just buy them outright (I know, it's really expensive).
I'll have to snoop around and see what I can find, maybe order internationally.

I found a Nokia 808, brand new, sealed, unlocked, on a website called sgdaily.com (or something like that).
Yes it's from Singapore, but with the exchange rate, it works out to around $650 CAD !!
A fine price for me, can't wait to get it!
