Doesn't look all that rugged.

For a phone that can resist being thrown in water, and "blowing rain" this device sure seems to have alot of holes in it's body. I would be interested to hear from an owner of this device, just how rugged / water resistant is it ?

I had a Sanyo taho, the phone that was a couple behind this phone (before the duramax) and it was very tough.

We threw it off the roof of the shop here about 5, atleast 30 feet onto asphalt and it worked just fine. the battery popped out only once.

The water test we did involved us freezing it in a block of ice and for hours it worked, unfroze it and dried it off and still worked great.

just saying if the taho worked this well, this should be just as tough

Damn, you froze it in a block of ice and it still worked? I don't think the phones are rated to survive being frozen inside liquid, thats actuially pretty amazing that device still works.
