Samsung SCH-A650

Hello all!

My Samsung all of a sudden the other day stopped working and now there's a yellow light in the Service LED spot. I looked through the user's guide and couldn't find the meaning of it. Does anyone know what this means?

SAMSUNG A 650 VS LG VX 3200 in terms of reception and sound quality

I am thinking of returning my LG 6100 .
The reception and sound clarity with this phone
is poor. Not to mention the volume bug and signal flucatuation issues .

My old A 310 had really good reception and sound clarity but unfortunately is broken.


I was thinking of exhanging my phone for either
the SAMSUNG A 650 OR THE LG VX 3200 .

I was interested in knowing from people who own these phones their feedback on which is better
in terms of sound clarity and reception.


I REALLY DONT CARE ABOUT FEATURES I JUST WANT AN INSTRUMENT THAT CAN FUNTION AS A PHONE.

I get a discount with my college on verizon products. And i still have my t720 I KNOW I KNOW dont give me too much crap about it. Right now i have a i710 through nextel, along with the t720 through verizon. nextel doesnt get a very good signal out where im spending most of my time. I can get the samsung a650 for free, the lg vx4500 for free, moto v265 free, audiovox cdm8910 free, and the samsung sch a610 for 9.99. Would yall recomend the sch a610. Ive never had a samsung actually ive only had moto's...

anybody know why occasionally i get a voicemail that i left at someone else's phone, back at mine as an incoming voicemail (weird picking up a voicemail and hearing yourself from 4 weeks ago).

Hello. I was interested in this phone because I needed a new pay-as-you-go phone and this one came up as compatible on verizonwireless.com. I liked the cell phone and I just have a few simple questions:
1. This phone can play poly ringtones, right? And is it compatible with Get It Now, which you can browse through ringtones?

2. Does this phone allow you to have different ringtones for different people?

im SO frikkin sick of this phone.

My Dad has the A650 and is visiting from out of town. When he got here he realized that he had forgotten his charger.

I picked up a generic one at Walgreens for him, but it does NOT specifically say that its compatible with the A650.

It IS however compatible with the A600, A620, A660, A670 and A680.

Doing a google search it looks like chargers that work with the A670 will work with the A650 but I'd like to make sure before I open it.

Can anyone tell me if this will work with his phone?

This phone makes me 🤭. when i seen it i was like what the 😳.after using it i was pretty darn 😡. now my friend has it and im just like 🤣. so now she walks around like 😕 because her phone is so raggady. but oh well i got the new se47 and its the best phone ever 😁.

Hi, I come from Europe and exactly from Poland. I was given a mobile phote which comes from the USA. I am used to seeing SIM cards in my cell phones, however I cannot see any in Samsung A650. I assume there is a newer technology in the USA but tell me what to do to be able to use the cell phone in Europe. Is there any possibility?? Please answer A.S.A.P. 🙂

I have a samsung A650 that got a little wet. Now the screen lost most of its brightness. Power saving is off in the settings, and I know it CAN work because it goes on when plugged into the charger. Any ideas?

I've been searching for FREE downloads everywhere, and have found quite a few very good sites, but here is my problem.

I can open the WAP, enter the link address, find the actual item I want to download, such as a wallpaper or ringtone, but when I click on "download" (on the site) all I get is a blank white page with either the wallpaper, or the ringtone playing in the background. The only option I get is for the Menu, I don't have a "save as" option or a "Download to phone" option, all there is, is a blank page.

Does anyone else get this? How can I download things?

PS. I actually did purchase a ringtone from a site to see if I was even capable of downloading items, and the purchased download worked fine, but the free ones do not.

Hello. I'm new here and am a new user of the A650. I know this may be a rather lame question but I have no idea how the "get it now" feature works. I was attempting to download ringtones and am curious as to how to do this..do you have to download programs on get it now to get ringtones, wallpaper etc?

If so, which is best?

I've looked on different websites that offer ringtones..has anyone had any luck with finding a site that offers a650 tones? It would be nice to find a site to download from rather than paying airtime while you browse for a ringtone.

What does "call screening (answering machine)" mean? Is it a fancy description for Caller ID?

When I send a text email from the phone, it correctly sends it to the right address, but in the log it lists it as going to someone else from the phonebook.

I can't see the pattern of how it picks the wrong person.

Anyone else see this ???

I just got an A650 and am struggling with two features. I'm hoping there's a solution, because the two of them together are enough to make me return the phone.

1. I don't want to hear a ringer when someone leave me a voice message. I would like to leave the normal call ringer on, but if I choose not to answer I do not want to hear a ring 30 seconds later when a message has been left. I think I've tried everything. Is there a way to turn this annoying feature off?

2. Caller ID does not work. When I get a call, the display shows the incoming phone number with area code (even if it's local), but fails display the corresponding name of the person in my Contacts list. This occurs even if the Contact phone number includes the area co...

Currently, I have a Samsung 530, which I like a lot, and I'm interested in moving up to a trimode phone WITHOUT a camera (my work doesn't allow cameraphones, an increasing trend).

I thought about the 650, but ended up not getting one for the following reasons:

1. No external screen.

Sorry, but this is huge for me. I want to be able to just whip the phone out of my pocket and see who's calling or tell the time without opening the phone.

2. No speakerphone.

Had one on my old Audiovox, and it was about the only thing I loved about that phone. When whatever company has you on hold with the bad elevator muzak playing for umpteen minutes, there's nothing better than NOT having to have the phone glued to your head. Ditto for checki...

Just got this phone, two questions:

a) what is the latest firmware release ???

b) Is there a bug with the 20 person voice recognition list ??? If I go and "clear all call logs" when I go back to review the 20 person list in the voice kit, they are gone, and don't work any more. Additionally, if I look at the memory utilization it STILL says "9/20 slots used", or whatever I had filled out.

So far, the only thing I can do is clear the 20 slots out and put them back again. Is this a known bug, is there a fix ???
