Sanyo SCP-5500 / VM-4500
***FYI: THERE IS NO SILVER SANYO 5500 BEING MANUFACTURED FOR SPRINT!***
This week I placed an order for a silver Sanyo 5500 from Sprint and a few days later i recieved a blue one in the mail.
Confused, I contacted Sprint, and was fortunate enough to speak with a enthusiastic specialist that contacted 3 supervisors in 3 different departments about the existence of a silver Sanyo 5500.
He put me on hold but after a few minutes he said that he would call me back because he was talking to so many different people and didn't want me to be on hold the whole time.
30 minutes later he called back with this news: Although there is a silver Sanyo 5500 shown on the phone's manual and on some websites, it does not exist, and will not be manufactured for Sprint.

you know what... i'm with my man eddie here. We all have a pcs phone, if not the 5500. so i want to see a picture of this silver one, cuz i've heard alot about it, but haven't heard anyone say that they actually HAVE it. whoever has this phone, let us all know, and you can send me a picture of it!

What the ****? I got another call back from Sprint's Order Tracking department which works with Inventory everyday, and they said that the silver phones ARE coming out.
A fellow board member, Mz_Desz, posted a response in another forum:
"The problem doesn't lay with customer service in this case....it lays with the company's in-house structure. Somehow the correct information isn't getting routed to where it should be.... The need someone to come in there in actually reconstruct each dept and link them together in a way that it benefits their customers as well as thier emplyees."

peeps, please, read this and learn. The silver ones are going to be out shorty. Like how the 8100s were, with the navy blue and the silver/lavender type. Everybody was doubting that also, but guess what?, they came out shortly in a few mths. Please peeps, be patient with the silver one, it will come out, if you want the silver one so badly, I'm sure you could wait. I got the blue one and I'm happy with it, but not everybody is like me and the others that love their blue color. As far as the assumption that Sprint won't be making these phones, of course they aren't going to make these phones, due to the fact that SANYO produces these phone, not SPRINT.
