No wonder the cost of Verizon's cellular phones and service is a bit higher than the competition. With all those returns, excess paperwork and wasted manpower, they have to charge us more.
No, I'm not employed in the cellular industry.
It's unfortunate when people abuse return/exchange policies, but customer service is key in the retail world, just ask Walmart. I know they've tightened up a bit, but I'm trying to think if I've ever seen a legit return denied in that store. I know Verizon was #1 in the cellular industry for a long time, and still may be. I'm sure customer service has a major role in that.
I'm not in the cellar industry either, but I have been in retail for a while. My former employer, the now defunct Service Merchandise, had a HORRID customer service policy....hmmm I wonder if that had any bearing on them going out of business a few years ago???
You only have 15 days from the original purchace, so you can't change phones every 15 days.
And yes there are ussage limits on 15 day exchanges, as well as getting a warrenty replacement in 30days. These ussage limits are set by the Manufacturer of the phones. Verizon wireless does not Warrenty your phone, the manufacturer does. Thats why they call it a manufactures warrenty. Verizon simply does the exchange for you. Unlike other consumer electronics where you have to pay to ship the unit to some wharehouse in Texis, and then wait to get back your refurbished or repaired unit.
