Motorola A630

Jeez! This is like a bad dream.

i created this account to say this newest news makes me sad.

that's why i decided to wake up and buy a 6230. 😁 If the a630 appears I'll check it out but i wouldn't hold my breath hoping for it.

I checked back again today there are 610 showing in the warehouse but there are no further pruchase orders for the phone. SOrry but thats all the information that I have thus far...damn company for teasing us all this time....

I wonder if they have a small stock of phones and they wanna just sell them without notice and discountinue them all in one swift blow.

There's more than on warehouse/distribution center. Could it be that's just a start for your particular warehouse?

The main facility is the memphis warehouse.

Talked to my Cingular rep yesterday...She said it came down from the top that we wouldn't carry this phone at all...Aparently they don't think it would sell at all.. 🙄

Is it doing that bad on T-Mobile? Or are they comparing sales of the piece of sh*t LG F9100? I've gotta figure out if I wanna get an unlocked version now or just wait for Cingular to release another appealing phone. Grrr....

Let's not jump to conclusions. 3/21 is another week away. The A630 has been approved back in January with one more quirk to work out. According to my rep they won't stock the a630 BUT will order it. They only carry a small handful of phones but will gladly order any phone a customer wishes to order so that's what your rep has ment (hopefully). So I'm going to sit tight. I've asked around and so far no one has been able to recall any phone being completely cancelled. Delayed yes, but not cancelled. My fingers are crossed and sincerely hope this phone comes soon 😕

This phone is CANCELLED!!! I work for cingular and have emailed everyone that is higher than me and they all said NO!!. I am sorry but whoever said the 21st is WRONG. I want this phone very badly but will never get it. They cancelled for a number of reasons. One main reason is being that they wanted express mail on it and it failed in testing. Tmobile is selling the sh*t out of these phones. Cingular just does not want to deal with the phone. And yes there have been phones that have been cancelled. We were supposed to get the Nokia 7280 but no it was cancelled and cingular will not pick it up. Also, the 620 was going to be the new top end moto but that was cancelled and the 635 took it place. So in other words T-Mobile and Sprint continue to get the get the coolest phones? Oh well...

I just heard an hour ago from one of the cingular guys that the a630 is coming. He said the new test model, much sturdiers, was go thru with wonderful results.

Well I tell you what I am a Cingular rep and I have researched this for about 2 months and we WILL NOT GET THE A630. if i could i would send you all the emails i have recieved but that would be illegal and I would get fired.

Hey don't get upset. I have every right to choose whether not to believe you. Here's my probolem. You're the ONLY guy who said its cancelled. Here's what one of the MANY other reps, have been saying:

I even check with motorola and they did confirm that Cingular has approved and put in orders.

Now being logical I'm more inclined to believe the many sources that I 've talked to vs the ONE. Nothing against you personally.

No man I am not getting mad. I was just saying that I dont what everyone to keep waiting for this phone and to be diappointed. The reason why a couple of warehouses have them is because they have been procured for the Triton markets. I have not asked my purchsing manager what that means, but I think it has something to do with the merger and one of the stipulations was that we give triton pcs some spectrum and they gave us some customers. I dont know for sure. The warehouse has not ordred anymore units and they are prob giving those units to trioton. I really cant keep up anymore. All I know is that Cingular is going to have a press conference on Tuesday so keep ur ears open.

I'm sure Tuesday announcement will be somewhere along the lines of, "Okay all you guys waiting for the A630 are f**ked!".

I never say anything but I look at this board regularly. I work for cingular and on our latest price sheets that lists the phones it states that this phone has been pulled...meaning that it will not be released.

But other empolyees & reps DO have it on their price sheet. AND a couple have it in "as stocked" in the warehouse to be shipped on 3/21. Cingular still has it on their website. Only time will tell.
