Look at it this way. Moto is up to the "v" model already. They'll run out of letters to append to the end of the model number, and that will be the end of that.

The v.60 is a "bulletproof" and well tested model. For people that do not want a camera phone it is a great phone. Due to the fact that it is a metal bodied phone (and one of the only ones still around) it has a substantial feel. I had the v.60i TDMA for many years & loved it. The only reason that I switched was that the v600 came out (I was one of the first 600 people in the US to have one) which is also a metal bodied phone. As the old saying goes "If it ain't broke don't fix it" It seems that Motorola is following this with a bit of a twist. In the case of the v.60 it seems that Motorola's motto is: "If it ain't broke don't fix it - Just update it."

I agree that this new V60v is a great addition to Motorola's line-up. I've had the V60c then the V60i. The are all very durable, reliable, with a classic style, and great call quality and reception. The updating looks nice.
I know the V60's have been around for years now, but it's always been a great phone. I "upgraded" to a Moto T30 a couple of months ago. After about a month of using it, I re-activated my old V60i because I liked the better volume, shape and feel if it.
This phone doesn't have the latest features, like cameras, games, etc., but is great if all you want from a cell phone is to be able to send and receive calls reliably, with a small, stylish phone.

the v. series is the crappiest series of phones i have ever seen, from any manufacturer. motorolas insistance on manufacturing subpar handsets is really hurting them in the consumer market place. the v60c and v60i (along with their TDMA counterparts) were horrible, riddled with poor design (remember the v60c/i antennas). hopefully with this "revision" motorola will have killed all the bugs, but with motorolas history of ill designed handsets i dont expect much from this phone. you want a real phone look at LG, Samsung, SonyEricsson, Seimens, Nokia, and in some cases Kyocera

Tell me is that why Motorola's profits have tripled since this time last year. Or why they have gained in market share at the expense of market leader Nokia. Perhaps you don't like their phones, but enough people apparently do. In any case they first produced this phone way back in 2000 and the V60 is still around with only slight tweaking because it has been a large volume seller for them and they also have several other large volume sellers that counter your theory including the v600, for GSM, which is one of the most popular phones in terms of sales in the US and Europe.

As an emplyee of at&t wireless I here all the worst about the moto V60's for TDMA and have to say the only good thing they had was their were a clamshell phone. It was the only phone that had about a 1 in 4 chance that the antenna was not sheilded. but from what I can tell this is a problem only with the V60 and V60i because the V60 color didn't most of these problems and the same goes for the GSM and CDMA counterparts.

I would have to respectfully disagree. Though the other phones are good, Motorola definitly wouldn't roll out bad phones. They invented wireless.
