7510 on T-Mobile?
Anyone using a 7510 on T-Mobile?
T-Mobile does not currently sell the 7510.
Tech support at T-Mobile says they'll be getting the 7510, but not sure when. My old cell phone is dying NOW! đ˛
A few 7510 BB's for sale on eBay, but they are all locked to Nextel. How do I unlock the 7510 for use on T-Mobile?
I like the color-screen + speakerphone on the 7510 and would like to make it work on T-Mobile.
All advice appreciated... đ

Based on what I have been told, there is no way to unlock a Nextel phone to work on T-Mobile. Nextel runs onan iDen network, while T-Mobile runs on GSM, which are two completely different systems.

I was aware of the two different networks, but reps at T-Mobile thought an unlocked 7510 might work on T-Mobile.
I've had consistently positive experiences with T-Mobile reps đ , but this was an uncertain response, more of a best-guess.
Nextel would cost me quite a bit more for monthly service than T-mobile here in Los Angeles. I get a $10/month discount on T-Mobile Hotspots if I also have a T-Mobile cell-phone plan. Plus, the Nextel data plan for the Blackberry is more expensive than T-Mobile.
So it appears to be no-go for a Blackberry with speakerphone at this time on my current budget. âšī¸

AT&T/Cingular and T-Mobile phones are compatible if unlocked.
AT&T has 4 different Blackberry's, but it doesn't look like any of them have the speakerphone that the Nextel one does.
I may have misunderstood, but the Blackberry's have nothing to do with the HotSpots and if you were going to use the Blackberry as your phone, it would be extra for the full functionality.

Did you get the BB 7510 to work with T-Mobile? A friend of mine is offering to borrow his BB but I hesitated after reading your post.
