Back when I got my T68i, I was able to get the kid a the T-Mobile kiosk to price match to an Amazon rebate... has anyone tried something similar with ATT or Cingular? I know they won't match plans, but with a 2 year contract, that's downright highway robbery for a phone.

It might be highway robbery for just a phone, but most people don't understand until they play with it for a while that this is a high powered phone, PDA, camera and MP3 player rolled into one. My iPod was 250, my palm was around 300, my digital camera (okay, it's a 5 megapixel, so this doesn't replace it, but it complements it nicely) was 900 and my old phone was 200. This is far less expensive for an integrated device such as this.

I'd have to agree. This IS NOT a normal phone. Spend Five minutes with it in your hand and you will shell out the cash. This phone defines HIGH-END. Very sweet. It doesn't have a mega pixel camera, but the camera works well. This phone has everything that the competition's "highend" phones don't. The series 60 operating system is WONDERFUL. It includes FULL HTML browsing. EDGE, MP3's, HUGE SCREEN,VIDEO CLIPS,WASHES DISHES, er..ahem. You get the point... It's honestly one of the most feature rich phones available. Use the "compare tool" on this site... hell, even the MMC comes with Free software ,and Offers on discounted software applications. It's got this HUGE A$$ screen and has longer battery life than my nokia 3300. This phone causes perm...

There's no question that this phone beats most others, hands down; however, $400 is a bit steep, when you consider the service agreement. Especially considering, to use the phone to its fullest, you'll be using a pretty decent plan. 😉

All told, I think I'd squeeze 300 out for it, but there is a limit to my insanity. 😁

has anyone seen or have a cingular branded one yet? i tried all of the cingular stores in the utica?syracuse area and noone has them and some reps had no clue the phone exsisted!!

Same here in Atlanta. First I was told that Cingular would carry the 6600; that never happened. Then I was told the 6620 would be out in a week or two; that was in May 04. Now Cingular has the 6620 on their web site, but none of the stores in Atlanta have them in stock. But they say they will in a week or two.

ATTWS has had this phone for at least a month now, and a T-Mobile rep said they'd an unlocked phone on their network. Hey Cingular, get your act together! Maybe I should just switch carriers...

Well cingular "has it".... it;s just not available. If you order it on the website it is on back order. And the stores that ordered it, are waiting for shipping, or the wearhouse dosn't have any in stock.

According to the Cingular salesman at the mall by my house, this should be hitting stores on Monday of next week. Also, he claims the 6230 should be hitting stores in about two weeks.

Only time will tell.

Does anyone knows where you can buy 6620(unlock or Cingular) for less than $499 ? I can't believe Cingular is selling it at this outrageous price. 👿

It's still on the site for Texas. I'm in San Antonio and I checked Dallas as well. It shows up on both. I don't know what's up.

It's off for the Atlanta area too. Any Cingular employee reading this forum able to give us a straight answer on the status of this phone?

0900 today it was there .. just check and for the austin, tx area it has been pulled... What Gives?

My educated guess is... that the phone was backordered so much, that they just they decided to pull it, until they had an efficent supply. In order to fufill the demand. I know that it is not in many of the wearhouses either, (where retail stores get them.)

But they should be in stores in a week or two! 🙂

That's the story I got when I walked into a Cingular store in Columbia, SC.

With the V710 from Verizon crippled, I'm looking into Bluetooth alternatives...

they pulled it from the web site because they did a software upgrade for videorecording!! will have a relaunce date soon!! this was said on howard forums .

OK... I called Cingular sales for more info. After convincing the sales dude that I wanted more than a verbal rehash of what is on their web site, he put me on hold.

When he came back he said that his buddy is "testing" the phone (didn't say what was being tested) and that it would be released in late September or early October.

I'm sure he meant just a week or two 👿

Personally, if it's not out next weekend I'm buying it unlocked and going to T-Mobile. They don't lie to me and seem to actually want my business. Anyone know of a good retailer selling this phone?

Yeah, like other people have said... it has been pulled from the site because of a video messaging upgrade. I guess nokia released the software a day or two after the cingular realease. So cingular is going to upgrade the phone. We still should seem them in about to two weeks tho! 🙂

i actually placed an order. bought the phone and choose priority delivery. after a week and a half of waiting the website status is still on back order. i get different answers evertime i call. they told me that:
1. phone on back order.
2.error in system,call back in 48hr.
3. phone is in and ready to ship, will escalate to shippig dept. call back in two days.
3. this phone is back ordered but will be shipped on monday.
ok, if you don't have the phone that's fine, but cingular put a hold on the funds in my account to make sure it is available. when does it stop. why lie to a loyal customer, if you do not know then just tell me. if you can't produce the phone then just tell me, i can cancel my order and move on.

Well it's not on the web site for the Los Angeles area since last Thursday. However if you go to the Nokia site it still show this phone is offered through AT&T and Cingular.

Well for Austin, Tx.. it shows up on the list of phone you have avail..
