1. variants of Galaxy Phones often differ slightly from country to country. Installing a build for a different device (no matter how similar) could brick your phone.
2. You will likely have to root your phone in order to install a new Android version. If rooting your phones invalidates your warranty or your carrier's policy, then that would be the case here. Your best bet would be to call your carrier and specifically ask how this scenario fits in their policy.
but a good case is definitely better than getting insurance on your phone, these cases are awesome. and the video is nice.
