v710 and uscc
With all the problems that I am reading about with verizon, are the v710's for uscc going to have the same problems with bluetooth and all?

Who Knows -- any real answer to that would be pure speculation.
I'd hope that this is strictly Verizon. Why a company would be evasive or misleading regarding any product offering is a mystery to me. Seems to me that you're trading short term revenues for long term problems, and erosion of customer confidence. My hope is that their good sense will eventually prevail. If they have any business sense at all, it will. Customer pressure doesn't hurt -- so keep it up.

I just got some V710s in today, and I am trying to find an answer to that question... no one seems to know. I will keep everyone posted

Well, I got the V710 from USCC last week and I must say, I am disappointed. They (don't know if it was uscc or moto) disabled the ability to transfer ringtones or photos from the transflash card to the phone. I made several of my own mp3 ringtones from original stuff, (not kazaa downloads stuff) but I have no way to get them on the phone. well, I downloaded the latest version of Motorola Mobile phone tools, version 3.xx and it worked for putting mp3 ringtones on the phone. I am very happy. I guess all they locked out was the ability to transfer them from the TF card to the phone. But at least I have a way to move my mp3 ringtones to the phone. I am happier now.

Does this phone support Bluetooth file transfers? (OBEX)

well, I can't yet answer that question. I was able to connect it (v710) to my Palm TT, and I was able to connect it to my laptop computer via the Belkin bluetooth dongle. However, I wasn't able to get the Mobile phone tools to pair up with it yet. I have done some research and found some other possible directions on the Mobile phone tools makers website and I am going to give that a try tonight. However, I haven't yet. I feel like it will work, since it works with the cable...(why disable one way but allow it with a cable...I know Verizon did that but it is stupid)...why not with the BT. I will tell you a USCC rep told me that they did not disable they BT in any respect...but I haven't had any luck yet. Will spend a couple of hours o...
