Cost?
Probably cost in the $325-450 range. Its VZW's first bluetooth phone, and with the hype on it, they can. Its a brilliant plan, but it should not cost this much. My guess is when the VX7000 comes out, probably a week or two after, then they will put in a rebate.

Now for a new debate on this issue... is it worth being an early adopter of the phone at the higher price to get a chance at the rebate for the free headset?

Yes, the headset is worth $100+, and it is free. The rebate on the phone will only be $100 maximum.
So if we say the phone will be $400:
Phone + Rebate on phone=$300+headset=$420
Phone + headset = $520 - rebate on headset = $400.
So if we say the phone will be $400:
Phone + Rebate on phone=$300+headset=$420
Phone + headset = $520 - rebate on headset = $400.
