The thing about clam shell phones I like is that the major screen is protected and you don't need a case, which always makes the phone bulkier, to protect it. The outside screen on a clamshell phone is the secondary screen which is no biggie if it gets scratched up a bit. Slider phones and swivel phones which have the screen only on the outsied will get scratched up unless you have a case which will probably be weird to have for those phones. That is why I am a big big fan of clam shell phones. Great design and no matter how little they are when you open them up and talk on them they feel great like a real phone, comfortable for the ear and the talking part.
