I just read the bulletin at sony ericsson's web site and also read the instruction booklet for the t237 unless you read the booklet you do not know how to work the speaker and yes it does have a speaker.

Does it have a dedicated speaker or does it use the earpiece speaker?

It has a dedicated speakerphone. It is located on the side of the phone. (this isn't 100% sure because I've only SEEN the phone not used it but one of the people I work with has used it and said that there are two speaker holes on the side of the phone that the sound comes out of.) Also the person that said there SE rep told them it didn't tell me what area your out of I need to talk with your rep 😛 (i'm a rep)
