Best USB Cable..
Hey everyone,
I just ordered my Z500a from Cingular and I'm wondering what is the best USB cable to get. I'm not worried about using it for a modem, I just want to be able to move pics and sounds from my laptop to the phone and back with no hassles.. And customize the theme with my own creations. What are your thoughts? Should I get a "data connectivity kit"? Or do I just need the $9.95 USB cable from datapilot and some free software?

I bought a 10$ one off Ebay and it works great! you dont need the 90$ one! Remember to use Float's Mobile agent.. best program ever.

If you buy one of those cheap ones off of eBay, just MAKE SURE you download your USB drivers direct from the Sony-Ericsson website (DCU-11 USB cable). Most (not all) of the driver/software cd's that come with those cables are pretty outdated since the DCU-11 has been in use for various Ericsson phones over the last couple of years. While you're there, you may as well download the most-updated software too (Mobile Phone Monitor, Sound Editor, SynchStation, etc.).
Or better yet, go with the other guy's recommendation here about Float's Mobile Agent. If you go with Float's stuff, don't download any other Ericsson software since you won't be needing it anyway (it also causes serious conflicts with Float's software). It does everything the Eri...

I got the $9.99 one from www.datapilot.com and use it with the Sony driver you mentioned. IT works like a champ with the Sony software as well as with floAt's..

Alot of the problem with getting the dcu-11 cable to work is in the z500a phone itself. The connectors inside the phone get lose and make a bad connection so that Sony's or Floats program wont get a connection. I found that if I jiggle(the only word I could think of) the cable while it was trying to connect, I would get a connection every time
