kniFeb 1, 2005, 12:06 AM
I just switched from siemens s56 to s66. I assumed that I wouold be able to to the speed dial the same way in this phone. But apparently not. I want to set the number keys to be phone numbers instead of the presetted ones which are games and other BS I don't even use. I read the manual and it says to press the number and then press options and under options press CHANGE then select the phone nunmber you want. But there is no CHANGE button. there is only MARK TXT. this is soooo annoying all I want is to set phone numbers to the number 2-9. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I'm starting to really hate this phone. It sucks badly. I really hate having to dial the whole number or looking for it. becuse there are only about 5 people that I...

Im pretty sure you have to press the number, than on the right soft key it will say what the key is set to(for example john or games). after pressing that key it will say:
Start:
Games
and the soft key will say change and ok and press change. A little tedious but this is how ive done with my M55 and SL56.

I don't think that's how you set speed dial on the S66 😡 I just the phone today and I'm pretty frustrated with the fact that you can't set the one-touch speed dial on this phone. Also, I hate the fact that you can't set your own shortcuts. I'm so spoiled by Nokia's user friendly menus. I guess I have to start reading the manual. But the manual does not have anything on one touch speed dials. Therefore I highly doubt that you can set one-touch speed dials. If anyone knows how, please let me know!!! 😢

😉 You need to transfer the phone number from the address book to the smart chip and assign a speed dial number. Then you can speed dial by pressing the number followed by # followed by the green send button.

Actually, that does not work! To get a speed dial list, you can press and hold the number 5 button and then scroll down to which speed dial you want to call. I guess that works better for me because I don't remember all the buttons if speed dial was set anyway, so I'm pretty happy with this phone now. 🤣

Hey dat1girl, I use your method too, but you can make it even quicker: Press and hold 5, then when the list pops up, just press the number that shows up next to the name and it will dial. A LITTLE easier than scrolling.
I also got the other method to work as well, but it takes an extra keypress so I stuck with the easier way.
