Nokia 7610
what about t-mobile?
i already have the nokia 7610, but i cant do anything with it cause its not compatible with anything in the US.
However AT&T Wireless and Cingular use both the 1900 and 850 MHz frequencies, so a Eurasian 7610 will not have full network coverage with those two companies.
the t-zones barely works, download features, aim, email, downloading themes. chat, presence also doesn't work.
the only things i can do basically is play Mp3's through Real Player , Camera/Video, video editing.
and all the real cool features that you can do, you need to be living in Europe/Asia and have a carrier over there.
and the t-Mo, NokiaUsa customer support cant help me with anything 'cause i guess they're not allowed or something.
and i paid around $750 for this phone. damn, i wish i can sell this and buy some other cell phone!!
I think we need to collect data on both versions of the phone and the different US providers to put together a guide for everyone.
I will be testing this unit (not sure its the eurasian unit or the other UK unit) on Tmobile in the next week or two.
If a sales rep tells you otherwise, it's just plain ignorance. The whole point of GSM was so that you can use your mobile phone with anyone, anywhere. Granted the 4 different frequencies complicate things a bit though.
Using special features might be a different story. I'm nearly certain features that have been around for awhile, like email or browsing websites on your phone, is just a matter of knowing the right settings to configure your phone. You can't call up ATTWS/Cingular/T-Mobile and ask though, because if they don't sell your phone, they won't support it, but you can always try looking...

How did I get the internet to work? T-Mobile sent me an sms witha set up packet. It installed the correct settings for the phone. How did they do this is they do not support this phone? Tell them you have the Nokia 6600. It has the same OS.
I HAVE NOT gotten Presence, Kodak Mobile, the Chat Programs to work
Has anyone had any success with the Voice Commands? I find it So/So.
