What Takes U.S. Companies So Long

I've been looking at the 7610 since it was first announced on Phone Scoop in March. I go to Europe every year in Sptember on business and I figured there was plenty of time for the phone to come out so I could pick it up and us it on my trip. Well as you all know this phone still isn't available here. While Europe is consistently ahead of us in service, coverage and products we're stuck with the same lame bunch of silver Samsung flip phones, or 3 year old Nokias. I can understand that it's a slow process to get the networks here up to speed with Europe. There is a lot more space to cover after all. What I don't get is why we have to wait a year or more for new phones. My contract with T Mobile ran out in May and I'm still waiting to g...

i agree, what gets me is when phones take an average of an extra 5-8 months to be released in the us than other parts of the world and the phone still has defects. i would expect the performance not to lack in most cases but more than often they do. just about every phone gets delayed when it is supposed to be released. i know there are circumstances that are beyound everyones control so now i expect to wait 3-6 months after expected release dates for a phone to be released.

yes, the US is kinda slow in the wireless world, dont know why that is, but they seem to be catching up slowly, the 7610 is currently on the t-mobile website saying it will be arriving soon, its sold in the galleria in houston for %899.99 i purchased mine from the United Arab Emerates for around $625, i'm thinking of importing maybe 15-20 pieces of the 9500 because phones in the UAE are much cheaper then europe and most of the time are released there earlier then anywhere else.
