Who will carry this phone? Verizon Wireless or Sprint PCS? does anyone know?
...
My guess would be verizon because it has brew sprint doesn't use brew. 😁
...
Yeahhhhh..... 🙂
Giltom, you are absolutely right. Good point, I have not noticed that. But, also the phone has Java, Infrared, Sprint's phones do have those features. What do u think?.
Anyway, I hope that Verizon will carry this phone, since I am so disappointed about V710, Mega pixel and Blutooth phone. I returned the V710 after 10 days trial. I am sure a lot of people disappointed about V710 too. Especially, someone even bought the phone with $600-800 dollars
I can't wait to have this phone. Yeah Nokia, let's beat Moto.
Thanks in advance if someone can give us more info about his phone, Nokia 6255i
Thanks a bunch for reading this

Alltel uses Brew...could be them
...
Any chance it could be Cingular?
...
It's CDMA only so it won't be out for Cingular nor T-mobile. Unless of course Nokia makes a GSM version w/c i highly doubt.
...
not to be a jerk...but cingular has enough nokia/bluetooth enabled phones...among other cool ones...but i wouldn't be shocked if nokia just said...eh it'll be gsm. haha
...
Thank you for your response. Do you know anything about the 8910i, 6260 or 7650? Nokia

Is there any hope for getting a really cool cdma phone ever..help me guys..is there really any cool cdman phones? please help..thanks in advance
...
bla bla bla, phone selection "sucks", where's the phone that microwaves my pastries, bla bla bla...
"is there any hope of getting a really cool cmda phone ever" - yeah, like you're ever going to be satisfied.
Just the other day I posted a thread about people bitching about Verizon's phone select on howard forums:
http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4 ... »I wrote it because I was browsing the Cingular and was greatly amused to come across a thread titled "Cingular Can't Compete With the Competition---Phone Wise" The gist of the thread is that people with all providers bitch about how the other providers have better phones just as much as we do. I think it's a "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fenc...

Well, that's certainly is one way of looking at it. I think Verizon is a great company I'm just a gaget freak and growing tired of not having what i want. I was really hoping to get some insight of mybe some information on what cdma phones are coming down the pike that would ever be compared to some of the phones i like.. example will verizon ever put out a phone like the Nokia 3660 or Nokia 6620, can they ever bring a phone like that to their lineup? That's my question. I have been with Verizon for six years and wondering when they will start to get intouch with what consumers want..Any thoughts? thanks in advance
...
It's amusing to see that you replied with both a nice, polite, thoughtfull message and an over-the-top message. hehe
Well, just because you, or even you and I, want certain kinds of phones doesn't meean "consumers" as a whole want it. Sure people want bluetooth, but they also want cheap phones that work well as a phone. I think it's difficult to bring all 3 together - 1. Cool 2. Works Well 3. Cheap
Plus, while the two phones you listed look cool feature-wise, they're both brick phones, and I'd rather have a flip phone. (Ironically, in your other response you go on and on about crappy brick phones).
I do wish they would come out with this phone already, but what I really want is to get signal everywhere I go. Moreso than I want bluet...

lol..i no your right,,, im still a verizon customer...i guess i better start to have some patience again... 🙂 my phone gets killer reception everwhere i go..that is the most important thing..and its an ugly lg6000 that works perfect..thanks for the reponse

I completely agree with you. The 6620 is an awesome phone. I've used it for awhile, and Nokia is the way to go. The screen, sound (quality and volume), Real Player, Symbian O/S, etc., are great. I also like the fact that it isn't a flip phone. And Nokia provides PC sync software for free, something other manufactures don't do. Their development environment for midlets is free too, and there are lots of apps available for it. So why don't I use this phone? Because it is GSM, which won't work for me. I live in a rural area, where CDMA clearly rules (for instance, triple the distance from the tower vs. GSM). So I'm stuck with Verizon or Sprint.
As for the 6255i, Verizon will surely disable some capabilities. Look what they did with...

o man..you need to stop triping on Verizon, Verizon has good coverage nothing else dude.. I can tell your one of us,I feel your pain, cause i sufferd 6 long years as a verionwireless customer, it's hard for me to even talk about it man.. it hurts so bad. But, I feel guilt for not telling other's what i have learned. So do this bro.. slowly put down your crappy brick cell phone, then take three slow steps back,(slowing turing on the third one) and Run!! Run!! RUN!!! man,,, and NEVER look back dude.
LISTEN..it's going to be ok man, to tell you the Truth it's going to be much better then just o.k..
You have taken the first step and have left that crappy cdma network and brickphone.
The next step is go get a GSM phone and serivice and...

So we agree then, that Verizon has good coverage. Homey, I don't need my smack phone toasting my pop tarts in the morning. And dude, even if my phone made me smell meadow fresh, toasted my pop tarts, had bluetooth and a 1600x1200 pixel screen, it don't mean jack if I ain't got the coverage!
Brick phones? You need to step out of your ivory tower lifestyle and onta duh street man. Verizon only sells 2 non-pda brick phones, they're all up in the flip-phone toting lifestyle. And I can't use my fly photo-graphy skills on a dinky little Nokia VGA camera man. Just the other day I saw a badass phone that was CDMA. It had a sweet little 6MP camera. But no homies over at duh Cingular place have it neither. And I ain't taking a ride to Korea just ta...

lol..nice one..right on..you right..coverage is all that matters..and i've never been dis-apointed in the six years i've spent at verizon 😁

Ok Verizon has some controll, but not total controll on what handsets come in. The great phones from Nokia and Motorola are GSM phones and so Verizon can't use them. The phone I have is a Motorola timeport 270c (Verizon) it was the last blue tooth phone until the crappy V710 came out. CDMA phones seemed a little better in 2001 when Europe was phasing out TDMA phones all together and most US providers now GSM were still TDMA. I don't know if this will be true for end of 05 and 06 when GSM phones start to going dead and WCDMA phones come into Europe.
When Sprint has a cool phone it usally comes from GE Sanyo and since Sprint has an exclusive contract with General Electric they only do phones for them. They're some cool CDMA phones in Asi...

I do traveling in Iowa and since all cellular providers in Iowa are CDMA, GSM just does not cut it at all. 🙄
So if you live in an are where there is no GSM you need a CDMA phone or go into area where there is no GSM. same vice-versa.
I truly believe the phone will be super great and set new standards for CDMA phones. I will have everything minus EV-DO or DV, and WCDMA/GSM roaming capabilities.

Joachim, are you a troll? I've seen you post this exact same rant in other forums, word for word.

The LG VX7000 and the VX6100 are both good verizon phones.
...
lg 6100 is a crappy phone dude..it got moving parts on it which is never a good idea on a cellphone...plus it's ugle just like the 6000..
i guess you have never used a good phone.
enjoy your crappy experience in the cdma world
...
i don't acutally have the 6100 i have the 7000, my parents have the 6100, its a nice phone, the lens cover is actally pretty nice, but i still really like my vx7000. and the good phone thing is bs bc i had a moto for verizon when moto made good phones, and verizon definately has the best network, i did all my homework before i went and renewed our contract, verizon is best, even over the new cingular
