Nokia 6255i / 6256i
Will Cingular get this phone?
Hi. I see Cellular One has this phone. I was originally Cellular One, but years ago it was bought out by Cingular, and thus, I now have Cingular service. (I live in upstate NY). I have been waiting for this phone and hoping like crazy it would be Cingular! I know Cingular is GSM and this phone is not. Will they make a GSM version? Or should I just give up my hope? Any chance Nokia will make more flip phones in the near future? I am sick of locking the keypad on my phone, but love Nokia.

Cingular will not be getting this phone of course as you know, but they will be getting nokia flip phone, cingular is focusing on gsm right now is the best time to join the band wagon since the razr is not only 199.99 on the web it is a $600 phone. cingular is looking at getting a nokia updated version with the flip open keypad first

The Cellular One that has the 6255i is Western Wireless (soon to be Alltel).

I don't know "which one". I didn't realize there were different ones. All I know is when I joined the cell phone world, I joined as a Cellular One customer, in upstate New York. Then, about 6 months later, I got a letter of notification in the mail that they were bought out and I would now be a Cingular customer.
