Nokia 6255i / 6256i
6256i Display: A question
Display
Type: LCD (Color TFT/TFD)
Colors: 65,536 (16-bit)
Size: 128 x 160 pixels
TFT
I lack experience seeing many many phones and knowing what such displays look like, so my question is: What does a 128 x 160 pixel, 16-bit color look like in comparison to a 176 x 220, 18-bit color display?
Nokia packed so many features into this phone, I am wondering why they went "smaller" on the display.... but maybe I need some enlightenment on this issue of evaluating displays. Please.

The Nokia 6255/56i is a Nokia Series 40 phone. Series 40 phones are only capable of 128x160 (unless you have the 6230i which is 208x20đ. 16-bit color is 65k colors on screen while 18-bit is like 100k colors on screen so the picture has more detail and color depth. The 6255i has quite a big display for a Nokia phone and the quality, although not as good as the Motos but still much better then most not to mention the 6255i is feature packed!
Dear Fifth--- Are you speaking from having seen the 6256i display? When you say "big display," what is the size of it? -Lorna

Its a great and powerful phone capable of PS1 graphics. It comes preinstalled with a game called Snowboarder which is actually PS1 graphics on a CELL PHONE! It looks very hot and I wish more games would make use of the great 3d graphic capabilities. I have over 2000 games for my 6255i and I change them daily. There is 1.2mb alloted for games and apps so you can on...

The screen is 128x160. Most Nokia s40 Nokia phones only have a 128x128. Actually most phones have 128x128 or lower unless they are a smart phone. The 6255i's screen is quite big and is very bright. The front screen is 96x65 and is only 12-bit.

And yes, I transfer games, apps, photos, screensavers, mp3s and more to my 6255i! I use Blutooth to transfer small stuff like pics and games but for bigger things like MP3's I have a Card Reader. The Bt transfer is easy and takes just a few secs to install games and apps and transfer over pics and screensavers. You can do MP3's by way of Bt but it takes forever and drains the battery life very fast.
I also use the Bt Motorola HS-850 headset and it works great with the 6255i!

Nokia HDW-3 earbud? I still have the old info on the Moto HS-850 and will find it with its lengthier description of advantages..... just have to find it among all the little notes I have written!
Now you have made me curious about the non-black version matching the 6256i! I am going to take a look.

Here are the two pictures so you can take a look at them... The HS-850 is very attractive next to the 6255/6i! All of the Nokia headsets suck, but don't take my word for it check the reviews.
Your best bet is the HS-850 since it has tons of battery life, long range, attactive and matches the 6255/6i, flip boom mic for easy call taking and ending, great craftsmenship since its by Moto, not a bad price ($50-70), and its very comfortable on top of everything else!
