Nokia 6255i / 6256i
Just bought the 6256i for Verizon at Best Buy!
Details:
$249.99 retail without a contract
$99 with a contract
You also get a rebate for either a $30 Best Buy gift card or a free bluetooth headset.
I have yet to turn it on, I'm being anal; you know, charging it for 24 hours before using it and all...So tomorrow night I'll know if bluetooth really is crippled on it or not.
Strictly speaking of the physical design, not bad...not flashy either though and the portion of the flip that the screens are on is really thick, more so than I've seen on other flips. Seems pretty solid overall. Can't wait to start using it and ditch my v710 ...

Its not even on the Best Buy site...Maybe they still have 2 update it. 😕
One thing I've noticed is dat Best Buys' website SUCKS. They take forever to update it, you can never rely on it. Your better off checkin' at the store.
What part of town do you live/work in?
Why do you insist on acting like I am alone in the complaint about the manner in which this phone was released for VZW? I'm sure you read other posts here besides mine and this complaint is pretty common here...

The bummer is dat they don' give you any price break fo' doin' a 1-yr contract extension upgrade with this phone, only with a 2-yr upgrade (which drops the price to $149). That's at Best Buy of course, I don' know what Radio Shack is doin'.
If your Nokia 3589 is still goin' strong I'd jus' wait an' save yo'self 100 bucks. But call CS an' ask 'em when you're eligible to upgrade, to be sure.
Oh, an' the camera is only ok, maybe a sliver better than ok if you set the quality to 'High'.
But your right, NE2 ain't available from anyplace but the Verizon corporate stores, an' I don' think they're carryin' the 6256i.

The corp stores at least have a vested interest in keeping customers happy, you have to stand around a Best Buy for 10 minutes just to get a question answered.
Hmm. At my local corporate VZN store, you have to put your name on a list, THEN wait for 10-20 minutes to get the privilege of talking to someone.

what part of the country, the sales guy in Texas told me that the 6256 didn't pass Verizon testing and wasn't going to be carried by corp stores ever.
That's EXACTLY what a Verizon store told me here in MA. Kind of makes you wonder about the quality if this is an accurate statement.

Its probably not an accurate statment tho'.
Its probably somethin' corp store reps say 'cus they know don' have a phone your interested in, so they want to lay some fear-uncertainty-doubt on the agent-exclusive phones so that you buy a phone from them at the corporate store. And not from an agent.
Think 'bout it.. why would Verizon let ANYONE sell an 'inferior' p...
