Verizon Stores Don't Carry Nokia 6256i

Aha! This is the answer to the question I posted about the differences in buying from BB or VzW AFTER the purchase is made.
So the answer is: VzW offers you New Every Two Years. Best Buys does not.
That is a big argument for buying at the VzW store.
I did go to the VzW booth in Circuit City last week. The salesgal told me that she didn't know when the Nokia 6256i would come to VzW stores. She did not say that VzW stores would not carry/sell the 6256i!

Lorna - do you have any idea how many people here have already explained that to you? Do you not read the answers to your questions?
I read all the answers to my posts and many of the other posts among other people. When I first posted the question, I did not get a STRAIGHT answer. When I don't get straight answers, I continue asking.
Regarding NE2, I knew that VERIZON gives it but I wasn't sure that Best Buy offers the same NE2. I am still learning. I bought my Moto V60i from Good Guys and my phone before it from some auto place named Harry's Around Sound or some such thing and never had to deal with them for repairs, new phones, etc, so I don't have much experience.
I come from the school of not accepting an answer as gospel until it is supported by other like answers (unless it comes from the original source, like the Nokia Support Guy answerin...

What is very clear to someone familair with Verizon/Cingular/ TM, etc, is not necessarily clear to someone who is on AT&T and who never bought from a regular store.
I ask until the answer is clear. Just because people have mentioned NE2 in the past does not mean that I processed it as an answer to my question now, or that one *should* process it as an answer. A lot of decisions are made that way, and people get burned because they presumed incorr...

NE2 has been *mentioned* many times, but not as a direct answer to the question I posted. Also, NE2 might be familiar to Verizon people, but to me, NE2 could have possibly meant Verizon AND other parties that sell phones. It could also mean the same thing for Cingular etc, but by another name.

take it easy , jeremy (jokinjezter)
However, this may be a moot point, since I signed up for only ONE year because I want to maintain the option of leaving to another carrier if I so desire. I have no desire or plan to, but one never knows what will happen. So, with that in mind, I might never take advantage of the NE2.
I guess that if I DO stay, then after my second year I will be eligible for NE2.
Thanks for your help! I appreciate it a lot. 🙂

Well, before I returned to the Nokia Experience Center I walked about 500 feet to the VzW kiosk and asked NE2 questions. The sales rep there told me that in two years, no matter where I buy my phone, I will be eligible for NE2.

"You must retain the same wireless handset for 24 months in order to receive the full advantages of this program."
This is exactly what I was saying: That if I opt to continue after my one year contract is up, then at the end of the second year and the completion of a total of 24 months total from first signing up, I will be eligible for NE2. The Nokia sales rep at the Experience Center said the same thing.
I figured this without seeing the VzW website but thank you for sending the URL. It's nice to have it written out.

I politely protested and got the NE2.

EXCELLENT!
I had:
1) The same phone for over two year
2) A two-year contract, over $35
I paid $60 for this phone since RS honored my NE/discount.
As a result of this purchase, VZW says I will be eligible for NE2 in two years, if I don't change phones.
All of this is contrary to what many here have stated, and in accordance with VZW's published policy.
It may be that RS didn't have to give me an NE2 discount, (the phone already had a $100 discount from the MSRP) but when the RS guy saw my history he gave me the NE2 without even asking.
Sweet.
