....now on my third 6255i handset.

Took it in to be replaced this morning, this is my third try-- out of the blue this weekend the 3, 6 and 9 keys stopped working. No water damage or drops, just working fine one minute, not working at all the next.

They gave me very little trouble at Cellular South on the exchange, but my concern now is that my warranty did not reset when I've had the phone replaced, meaning that it runs out in a few months. I am just a bit nervous that I'll find myself stuck having to eat the cost of my next replacement.

Anyhow, all in all I still love the phone-- it is without question the most feature rich CDMA handset available today-- else I would have opted to get some other phone rather than a new 6255i.

Has anyone else had a frozen key p...

I hope that you write this all out in a REVIEW here. It would be seen and people could look out for it. Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope it gets resolved fairly for you. I am expecting to get my 6256i delivered either later today or tomorrow by noon. I am very excited and I willl try out all of the numbers now that you have given a heads up. -Lorna

I was one of the first few to get the 6255i, so my full review on the phone including some of the first "in the wild" photos was posted long ago, nearly a year now.

Like I said in the post, I've had some issues with the phone from overheating to random power offs, the cracked hinge, and now the keypad thing but over all I still love it. There isn't a CDMA phone out there (shy of a few smart phones that my network doesn't have at the moment) that I would trade it for.

I have no doubt that yours will be fine, just keep an eye on the hinges and let us know if you run into problems down the road.

You are one of the pioneers with the 6256i, then!

I will keep an eye on the hinges; thanks for the heads up. I am now realizing that when I bought that BlueTooth earbud, the Nokia HS-11W, I *forgot* to ask the sales rep how it works, where the buttons are, etc. Research says just that it does basic BlueTooth functions. I did try it on and chose it instead of the HDW-3 that I earlier thought that I would buy because of the earpiece, which was rubbery and felt so comfortable around the edges of my ear.

I hope that this forum stays and lives on so that ...

Keep in mind, I have the 6255i, not the 6256.

Oh! OK, then, maybe the BlueTooth OBEX profile is not supported on the 6255i. (I don't know.) To my knowledge, the 6255i does not have a USB port so file transfers cannot happen that way, BUT, it does take an expansion card, right? So if so, you can slip that memory card into a card reader and transfer files that way between phone and computer. And in fact maybe you do not mind using the Verizon Picture Page!!!

Hmm. The sales rep at the Nokia Experience Center told me that the 6255i does NOT have a USB port! I am still waiting for my 6256i to be delivered by Let's Talk and was just told on the phone that the phone will reach my doorstep on Tuesday, Dec. 6. 😡

I expressed a concern about delivermen leaving packages on my front door (since last June a Macy's delivery left at my front door was *stolen*), so the contact person changed it from UPS to FEDEX, which requires a signature. The person that I spoke to yesterday heard my concerns about packages being left on my doorstep but never mentioned the possibility of me having FEDEX. This is why I have a policy of always asking more than once and more than one person. Remarkable.

6255i has no standard usb port. You have to buy special cable. I got one on ebay for $15 including shipping.

Oh! Then the Nokia Experience rep was right, then. OK. Thank you. Notice on the Phone Scoop INFO section for the 6255i and 6256i it does not state that difference. Be aware. -Lorna

I'm looking at my 6256, and it has no "standard" USB port either.

Now, the port might conform to some IEEE standard, but it doesn't look like any USB port most of us see.

You need to purchase a Nokia USB interface cable. If you go to the Nokia site you will find the specs and model number. I opted for a BT dongle and link to my PC using that. I am still waiting for my MMC card to arrive, however.
