Test Driving the 6256i
I checked one out at Best Buy (Dublin CA) and it seemed OK. There was no demo, but they opened one up. They wanted me to be very careful, because they didn't want a potential customer to think it was a "used" phone. Fare enough.
They wanted $259 or somewhere near there, with no discounts, so I said "Adios".
I picked one up at a local Radio Shack. While it's not NE2, the RS Guy looked at my account and said "You're eligible for the upgrade price ($200 discount) so it's $59.95 plus tax" (tax is on the retail price, not the discounted price) and I was out the door for $82 and change.

If you are into BlueTooth file transfers, then the 6245i is the only one, but if not, then both of the other phones you mentioned sound OK to me.
For me the most important issue is reception and clarity of sound. I remember being in a pharmacy and having to call my doctor. I had to go outside to do so, but I saw another woman with her cell phone inside the pharmacy, chatting away.
I also like it that the 6256i has analog for those times when there is no CDMA or digital. Who knows when I might be in Ojai at one of those spas that my friend invited me to!

Did you mean the 6255? Why is that the one? It seems all of VZW BT phones lack OBEX so that you have to use their service instead (without hacking).
At any rate, I've got 30 days to see if I like this phone.

I made a typo and it should have read 6256i, yes. All of the VzW phones are OBEX disabled (by VzW) but this particular model is fully BlueTooth enabled, meaning, I can transfer photo etc files. Are you sure that you have 30 days, not 15?
Anyhow, good luck with your new phone. Mine was supposed to arrive yesterday or today, but I got an email this morning saying that it is backordered and the new estimated delivery date is tomorrow, Nov....
