Woohoo! The 6256i arrived by FedEx at noon and in a minute I was out the door headed for the Nokia Experience Center, where a very nice fellow named Paul set my phone up for me and showed me some basics. He also connected my phone to the Nokia C-11 BlueTooth earbud. I took a picture of Paul and sent it to my home emailbox and it was there waiting for me when I arrived home.

Once home I paired the BlueTooth with my iMac-- a very quick process! I had some trouble with file transfers because I did not realize that the little beep meant for me to look at my phone and reply to the question. After one failure to connect, I glanced at my phone and saw the question, clicked YES, and the file transfer from my iMac to my phone was done.

Congrats on your purchase, and welcome to the Nokia 6256 club! 🙂 Did your contact guy at Nokia (Paul) mention anything about being able to lock or disable the side volume buttons? I think you'll find (if you haven't already) that they are too easily depressed, causing the ear and ringer volume to change every time your finger accidentally grazes against the button, even if you're just trying to pickup the phone. Aside from that gripe, I love the phone and am very happy with the purchase. Can't wait to get my Plantronics headset for Xmas to go along with it 🙂

I know what you mean about the volume rockers being easily changed but I do not know as yet if they can be locked.

And I would be remiss if I did not tell you that the Nokia BlueTooth earbud HS-11W is fantastic. It is easy to use and the sound is REAL. Also, the "hook" that goes around your ear is rubberized and flexible and therefore feels very comfortable while being entirely secure. -Lorna

Nice, Lorna. Ya really did research the holy hell outta this phone, so you deserve the good results you got. 🙂

One reminder 'bout bluetooth transfers tho'.. from what i hear, wit'out PC suite, you'll only be able to bluetooth transfer about 6MB of files at a time, a.k.a. up to the size of whatever amount of free built-in memory the phone has (which is 'bout 6MB to start, less if you fill it up wit' a lot of pics/videos/whatnot.. which is why it might be a good idea to get a memory card fo' the 6256i, an' keep alla your pics etc. there).

The '6MB limit' probably AIN'T a big deal fo' most people.. you'll only run into it if you try to transfer larger mp3 files or long (like 15-minute plus) videos without PC Suite.

Hey--- so far I have been uploading/downloading photo files of kilobyte size, so no problems there. 🙂

User Manual for this phone is BAD.
