Nokia 6255i / 6256i
Getting rid of startup melody
Is it possible to get rid of that little melody that turns on when the 6256i starts up? How is it done?

Yup- that melody annoyed the heck out of me too! Here's what ya do:
Menu/Settings/Phone Settings/Start-up tone
You can switch it off there.
Still haven't played around with the phone too much, but I did get a Plantronics 510 headset for it, which is working good, but gives some static sometimes. Thinking about getting the Nokia headset you recommended as a 2nd one 🙂

Very good! I'm glad to be rid of that melody. As for the Nokia earbud, I got the HS=11W and there is no static at all, ever. And because the ear clasp is rubberized and flexible, it is comfortable and it does not ever slip!
