Anybody have any updated/recent info on when this phone might be released???
The last time someone mentioned a date is that it was gonna be late January??? Anything changed since then???

Nothing has changed since the last update. I do know that entry to Verizon's test lab won't begin till sometime in December. I've gotten to use this phone for about a month now and can honestly say that it's a pretty good phone. SW is still a lil buggy but that should be fixed. The only thing that I don't like about it is that the mmc card slot is located behind the battery. I talked with the mechanical guys but they didn't have much say in the matter since management demanded the phone be as small and as thin as possible.

Putting the MMC card slot behind the battery is *far* from ideal, but i certainly appreciate the small & thin as possible...
I prolly would have been willing to sacrifice a little bit of size to get the slot in a more convenient location though...

Since you got a working model, I wanted to ask you how well does this phone synch both its contact list and calendar/appointments with Outlook? Any problems there?
Also, how good is the voice dialing via a bluetooth headset? And while we are at it and the V710 fiasco is still in progress, how good is the file transfer abilities via bluetooth??? Any problems with bluetooth usage in general???
Nokia is claiming a lot of functionality for the bluetooth for this phone according to what Mr. R. Brome has posted on the website... (i.e. bluetooth version 1.1 / supports Headset, Handsfree, Object Push, Generic Access, File Transfer, and Serial Port profiles). Care to share any comments? 🙂

I haven't actually gotten as far as syncing with Outlook or using a bluetooth headset with the phone. I mainly have been using the phone doing RF performance testing. I have used the phone for file transfers though and can tell you that transfering files via bluetooth is pretty good and stable. I did have some wierd problems using the IR port though.

To be honest the 3589i performs better overall than this phone but not by much. The RX is solid though. Typical RX sensitivity is -108.5dBm in PCS band and -109dBm in Cell band.

But the 3589i is not a clamshell design, nor does it support bluetooth...

Typically the 3589i gets about -109.5dBm sensitivity. The 6255i performs similar because they both use the same receiver.

It's just wish this phone would come out already, because I'd really like to upgrade to a flip with great reception and a speakerphone (the reception isn't so good in the room at my house, so the LG's don't quite make the cut. trust me, I have one).
On the other hand, I would be ticked if this phone came out, cost a bunch of money, and then had bugs. I guess that's always the problem huh - the customer wants it now, but they want it to be cheap and work well at the same time! 😁

definitely...i have a few lg's in my house...in fringe areas it seems to drop alot...i dunno if its cause my girl has sprint or has a samsung..but hers seems to pull alittle better
my dad had a nokia for a very brief time...in my house it did drop calls...but it held onto calls very well in some areas that surprised the hell out of me
