Phone looks great, but how will Verizon cripple this one?
Anyone who has seen what VZW has hobbled the potentially wonderful Moto v710 should be very wary about this phone coming to VZW. Any thoughts?

Supposedly Sprint will be releasing this phone at least several months before Verizon does...
Go with Sprint! Verizon certainly deserves to lose customers after what they did to the V710... 😁

Well, that's the problem - We actually have Sprint, but are having to drop it because the coverage is lacking where we live now. In Memphis and Nashville is was great, but in Knoxville we're getting spotty service. Verizon has the best system in this area - unfortunately. Plus, my in-laws and lots of our friends here have it, further pushing us in that direction. We're actually headed to the Verizon store today to return the v710's and try different phones. What a bummer.

What about Cingular/AT&T??? Is that an option? Cingular has a lot of bluetooth phones I believe...
If not, then if you want bluetooth from Verizon you are out of luck. The V710 is the only bluetooth phone they offer.
Still, if you HAVE to have Verizon as your carrier, you could check out the LG VX-7000.
Or if you have to travel overseas a lot maybe the Samsung SCH-A790 as it is a CDMA phone that can access GSM services while overseas.
If you want a Smart phone/PDA combo you could check out the Kyocera 7135, it has gotten pretty good ratings & reviews so far.
They have their standard phones such as the LG VX-6000, LG VX-3200, and the Samsung SCH-A610 & SCH-A670 all of which have gotten both pretty good reviews & ratings ...

thanks for your help - we actually went today and exchanged the v710s. I went the cheap but super-reliable route with the Nokia3589i, and my wife got the LG VX6000. I think we'll be OK with these for now. We'll see what's down the road for BT-enabled VZW phones. 🙂
