The RIM devices actually have two(2) browsers. A WAP browser and a HTML browser 😉

The HTML browser will NOT come on (at least at first) this blackberry. I went to a training on this product last week and it was on the Rep's blackberry, but she said that it will not be on the one released to the public. She stated that it maybe released later and people that buy it now will be able to get it via a software update if and when it comes out.

Not good news, but I have some.

This blackberry will allow you to have the push email coming from 10 different ISP's. That's more than ever before and the color screen is larger on the Verizon model than it is on other providers like Nextel.

I called Verizon to find out. The first person said that I dind't pay for it and had to pay an additinal $6.95 per month to activate the browser. I told her that I paid for the complete package and she was wrong about the fee and then got disconnected. I called back and after being put on hold for about 12 minutes, got someone else who actually connected me to someone who knew what the deal is: Verizon does not support the browser fxn on the 7750. He had know idea when they woudd have it up and running. I guess I paid for a browser that isn't enabled yet!!!

I got a 7750 and there are 2 ways to browse the web.

#1 Buy and install blackberry enterprise server. When you synch to the server the first time it automatically installs the blackberry browser. Once install you can browse the web on verizon's network if you subscribe to the national access plan.

#2 download the reqwireless browser and subscribe to a wap access service. The browser will cost you about $20 and the service about $50 for the year.

I have the bes method and it works great however you have to be willing to shell out about $800 to get it going. I haven't tried the other method but I heard it works. Also rim is launching a new bes version in august which will allow users to view pictures (jpegs etc).

If you have the WAP browser, then go to your browser option and press "RBRO". Then adjust your options so that you can display "HTML Only" and you will be able to browse the web as you would on your PC/MAC. Also, check out http://www.blackberryforums.com for other great tips/tricks.

My Company set up a BES administrator server that enables me to get internet access. It is working well. (It turns out that when you call Verizon, some of the tech support people know that the service is available and some do not.)
