question for mac users
Hey all. How well does the N-Gage QD sync with isync? Also... anyone here use Salling clicker, and any takes on how well it works with this device? Please keep me posted. Thanks.

Salling Clicker, iSync, and you have got to try Bluephone Elite. They all work wonderfuly with the mac.

1) what bluetooth headset are you using, and are you satisfied with it?
2) the phonescoop review says the max size mmc card compatible with the ngage is 236Mb. However, I saw ibeetle's recommendation to get at least a 512Mb mmc card. If I want a 1 Gb MMC card, is it compatible with the ngage, and any good brand recommendations?

I use a Jabbra Bluetooth head set. I do not know the model number. But it works great. And it even works with my Macintosh with bluetooth. I also use a Voice over IP phone service.
A 1 GB MMC card will not hurt your phone. I just do not know if the phone would recognize it.
What Nokia maybe saying by limiting the card size to 256Mb is that they only tested a card up to 256mb. It is also possible that when the phone first came out (it has been 3 years) the largest card was 256Mb.
My suggestion is either buy (or borrow from someone) a 1Gb card and if the phone doesn't recognize the full 1GB you can take it back and get a smaller card.

Again, thank you for the great suggestion. I did not know that you could pair a bluetooth headset to work with the puter to use a VOIP service, that sounds slick. How is the VOIP service, and what software would you need to run it on a mac? Thank you for your valuable feedback.

I've used a 1GB MMCs from PQI and two 1GB MMCs from ATP, one of which was an MMCplus.
I would avoid the MMCplus in the N-Gage, it was slow. The PQI and the regular ATP are good.
Unfortunately, a lot of the Symbian apps are incompatible with syncing and backing up with the Memory app. Just those apps being installed blocks your attempts to do either.
The solution is to have a cheap, small capacity MMC that you use only for backing up. Avoid installing apps on the main memory, put them on your big MMC instead. That way you can remove the MMC and the offending apps when you sync, and you can use the small dedicated MMC for memory backups.
