I compared the specs to my Note 5 and am not impressed. Aside from adding memory card support, water resistant design and a slightly larger battery, I'm losing MP on camera, video is decreasing to 1080p and ram is the same.
I'm a power user and could have used more RAM as my N5 struggles with my day to day use. Thankfully I'm still on unlimited data and use 50gb a month.
Now add the aforementioned new features and increase the RAM and I might consider.
Until then....

The camera is the same as the S7, which is an extremely well-regarded camera. It's higher quality than previous Samsung cameras. Megapixel count isn't everything.
The video capture actually maxes out at Quad-HD (as noted on the full spec page), the same resolution as the screen. That's extremely high-res and would still look good on a 4K TV (which most people don't have anyway.)

Just like the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge... which all utilize the same camera...the Note 7 records video in 4K. I believe an error has been made on the specs page, because every other site mentions this feature, including on Samsung's official site where they specifically advertise the 4K video recording on this model, and offer a sample. It really wouldn't make sense for them to remove this feature because they would have no reason to do so. The front facing camera I'm sure like previous models is limited to QHD as you'd need a minimum of 8.3MP to record 4K, and it is only a 5MP unit.
Directly from their site:
"When you want to remember every detail, turn on 4K video. Because it's 4K, you're able to savor those sweet moments on the much bi...

I could not find a 4K option when I spent time with the phone on Tuesday.
I'll be sure to double-check it when we have our review unit, which will be very soon.

Great, I look forward to reading the review. 🙂

It is 4K. The specs have been updated. Sorry for the confusion!

The reason the camera goes down is because of the lowlight feature in all s7. So they have to go down in the pixels to bring that amazing lowlight feature in to effect. My favorite part is the spen I love that you can pin items and make your own gifs. I also enjoy the iris scanner. Can't wait for it to come out and test the different modes.

The camera is better as it's the same one in the S7. I have both the Note 5 and S7 and the S7 Camera is much, much better. The Note 7 is NOT losing 4k video ability. It clearly says it on Samsung's website that the camera does UHD...just like the S7.
Everything about the Note 7 is going to be better. Does Marques Brownlee lie? No.

I have a Note 5, and impressed with the Note 7, I pre-ordered from Best Buy, when I went to get it, they didn't have it. Nor did Best Buy have any 256gig sd cards of which I wanted, and they told me wouldn't get it till Oct. Reason I'm saying this is, I liked it, would have taken it if they had the phone, but canceled for strictly not wanting to spend the money at the present time.
The Note 5 is a great phone, the 7 is a great update. I liked how TW was improved, I did like how the edge panels improved the screen, the brightness and saturation were fantastic. Of the camera, don't know because didn't use it. Being a better camera doesn't mean the 5's is bad. If I had a Note 3, or 4 without a doubt I would have waited the week or so, if ...
