Is the cingular service improved at all? And, does this phone have voice digit dailing?

Voice digit? Meaning you can say the 10 digit number and have the phone dial it? No, it does not.
Cingular does offer a service called Voice Connect, that will do that. There is a monthly cost involved.
Cingular coverage? A general question like that is hard to answer as service varies from market to market, and unless someone responds from your area(which you chose not to disclose), it may not be an accurate answer. A little more detail in your question may get the response you want.

I'm in Central CT, not far from you. My reception with this phone is MUCH stronger than the last couple of phones I've had, but I still have dead spots in some of the more "rural" parts of my commute.

I've been with Cingular since 2001, when it was BS and transferred to cingular, I have never really had an issue with the service area and calls, but as everyone knows, their attitude towards their customers has turned into a "who gives a ____?". As evidenced by how they handled the V3 ....
As for voice number dialing, I've never really seen the need for the phone to have it, though I know some out there feel it's a necessity.
