Mobile P Tools, GPRS settings, V3, Cingular

I just received the mobile phone tools for my V3. The new version (3.19)of mobile phone tools creates a GPRS connection in Win XP. When I go to connect to it, it says user name and password not correct.

On the phone itself, if I go to media,, I can get the sports scores etc via the phone preset settings, so I know that the -media- is working.

I saw the thread about the following settings, but they still don't work. Anybody know the correct GPRS settings in mobile phone tools, so I can use the laptop to websurf, email, etc. FYI I do subscribe to the basic media package with Cingular.

The settings i used...
username WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
GPRS APN wap.cingular
password CINGULAR1

Thanks for your assistance

I use Mac OS-X and I have the same settings. I use a Sony Ericsson though.

But yeah, my username is WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM

Password is CINGULAR1

What did you put in the field where the phone number goes? Cause you need to have that in there too. The phone number is *99***3#

Try that and let me know if it works.

*99# nor *99***3# worked..I could dial a regular number but it only used the dial up portion of my modem, not the GPRS connection..any ideas/help??

Well, try calling customer care. I called customer care and they helped me to an extent, then they transferred me over to Sony Ericsson. They may transfer you over to Motorola but I can't say if they'd be helpful or not, but it's worth a shot. Those are my exact setting and they work everytime.

This sorta goes along with my philosophy that some things weren't meant to work. Two of them being Windows OS and Motorola phones... No offense.

Ohh, well, still. You could always try calling Cingular cust. care. Maybe they'll be able to help you out, maybe a little bit at least, hopefully.
