I may have missed it in the manual, but I am trying to take a single individual and add several phone numbers under that name. At the present i end up with several individual listings with separate icons to scroll through. Any way to accomplish this task without having the multiple entries show?

I'm not sure with MPT, however to sort numbers for a single entry, on the phone you set the view to primary contacts, in which you determine which number (I believe you get 2 for each individual entry, or 3 ..) will be shown.

ok...but is it possible to locate a name, click on that name to open it and then have a list of various phone numbers associated with that individual (similar as in the Palm) thereby allowing me to scroll and choose which number to dial?

You would go to the primary contact in that situation, hit view, then you could scroll the entries to see the numbers themselves, at least, that is what I do. My phone book is in list format, with view set to primary contacts.

I'll go to the contact, hit view, then scroll to the alternate number, then hit dial.

hope this helps you out.

Ok...I tried that...and cannot seem to get the entries to show in that manner. Can you tell me here how to get this started beginning with antering a couple numbers for a single contact? It just shouldn't be this hard...or maybe I am just being dense! :-)
thanks

Well, let's see ...

Go to the phonebook, start with a new entry, change the no, the name, type number, etc. Hit done.

Now you have one number for this person listed in the book.

Now, if your phonebook is in list format (mine is), go to that entry in the list, and hit view.

Then hit edit.

Scroll down the editing options, you will come to a ...more... entry, hit it.

This will take you to the add new phone number, hit that.

You will now see you are adding an additional number to the same entry you created earlier.

Hit done when finished adding the second entry.

Now, if you go back to your phonebook, in list view, sorted by primary contacts, you'll only see the primary contact you selected for that newly created entry....

Ah, So! I had actually done that at one point but I didn't know that I had to hit scroll from the "view" menu! It actually works now that I understand what the software wants me to do! Thanks for being patient and descriptive....ever thought about writing the damn manuals for Moto?? 😎

Ahh, thanks for the compliment, I wish Moto would notice and give me a job doing that, I'd take it! 😁

You're entirely welcome, being up early this morning I was able to just go through the phone and give you the step by step. Gets you going, and adds to my integrity and reputation on this board hehe .... 😉

If you have other questions, feel free ...
