My RAZR was working perfectly until last night, when I went to turn it off and charge it. I went to try to turn it on this morning and nothing works (nothing on the display, none of the keys will work). I know it's fully charged because the keypad remains lit. I tried taking the battery out, putting it back in and, immediately when I put the battery back in, the keypad lights up again. But I can't turn it on or "off." I went into the Cingular store and they didnt know a thing and told me to use the Exchange by Mail warranty program. I called up Cingular tech support and they couldn't figure it out either and we tried resetting the phone, by removing the battery for a long time. But it still wouldn't power up . Even if you CAN get it working, why would you want to keep it? Clearly, there's a power issue that should concern you.

And suppose you DO get it to work - now what? You're going to send a "working" phone back to Moto under warranty?

My advice? Get a new one, while it's still clearly under warranty. Call Moto, tell them you can't be without a phone while they "exchange" it, have them send you a replacement phone via expedited shipping - at their expense. Let them put a core charge on your credit card until you send them yours back, if they need to. If the CSR says they can't do that, ask for their supervisor.

In addition to a premium phone, paying a premium price entitles you to premium customer service. Insist on it, you'll get it.

Regardless of how much money you spend, it is still a complex electronic device running software. Unfortunately, you happened to receive a bad phone out of thousands that are produced. It really isn't that unusual that a bad phone will pop up here and there. Since it is still under warranty, you will receive a brand new phone and unless you have some really bad luck, I seriously doubt that your next RAZR will have any problems. Good luck.
