Sorry for noob like questions but I'm trying to learn about the benefits of this stuff. If I purchase a either a Cingular version or an Unlocked version via the web do I need to both...

ReFlash and/oe Flex Files for the phone? And would you recommend doing that immediately after getting it? MotoX.us seems to have a bunch of mods and I really don't understand how they will benefit me. 😕

If someone has a moment to explain I'd be super gratfull. 🙂

If you buy an Cingular version it will have all of the Cingular branding all over it like the MEdia Net icons and all that crap. The unlocked version just uses Motorola branded software. The only benefit of flashing your phone with the software from Motox would be that it will give you video recording capabilities that the Razr did not originally come with.

Wil the internet and mms functions on an unlocked Razr work on Cingular if its using the Motorola internet branded software? What happens if you put in the Cingular internet and mms settings?

All you have to do it just get the Cingular settings and put them in the unlocked version and you're good to go. It will act just like the Cingular branded Razrs. There is a post a few posts down that has a link to a website with the settings and how to program the WAP and MMS on an unlocked Razr. If you dont want to do that just call customer service and tell them your settings are screwed up and you need the settings and they will walk you thru programming it.

If you are using Cingular you have to use those settings. You have to use the carrier settings to access the internet and MMS. There are no Motorola settings because Motorola is not a carrier. Cingular branded phones come already programmed to work on the Cingular network. Unlocked/unbranded phones have to be programmed for the specific carrier since you can use them on almost any GSM carier.
